Workforce & Continuing Education’s creative classes cover a wide range of disciplines and skills from Culinary Basics to Digital Photography, and much more. If you have a particular suggestion you would like us to explore offering, please Contact Us. We can offer classes at virtually anytime and any location in our service area if we have adequate interest. In Workforce & Continuing Education, the sky’s the limit!

Creative Art

Students will acquire knowledge in the techniques of drawing and skills of painting in oil, acrylics, and water colors, which will be displayed in their painting projects.  Instruction is individualized thus allowing each participant choice of subject matter, medium and objects.

Floral Design

Designed to teach the student basic floras, containers types, seasonal flowers, and filler foliage.  Student will be instructed on four of the eight basic designs and how to best designs techniques for each.

Bare Bones - Culinary Basics

This 72 hour course is held in 3 sessions (24 hours each).  The course is designed for cooking enthusiasts who would like to further their skills in cooking, or it is for the individual who is interested in finding work in an entry-level kitchen position.  Students are introduced to the culinary basics as well as how to safely work within a professional kitchen.

Cake Decorating

This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of cake decorating.  It will cover the basic techniques that are needed to meet the demands of anyone employed in bakeries, grocery stores, restaurants, resorts and those who are self-employed as a cake decorator.

Digital Do's and Don'ts - Part 1

This course teaches the student how to operate the camera and use all those functions/accessories.  They will learn tricks to taking pictures in low light, sports action, and portrait mode. Also, simple photo editing skills, as well as how to download, crop and adjust your pictures.

Shutterbugs - Part 1

In this class students will learn how to perform simple photo editing skills, as well as advance cropping and adjusting techniques.  Once pictures are edited students will learn how to create a photobook, calendar, cards, stationery, or photo gifts using Shutterfly.
