Non-Discrimination Policy

Current Faculty Openings:


Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a general instructor certification(Master’s Degree preferred). Experience teaching online, hybrid and traditional classes in criminal justice as well as field experience in criminal justice preferred.

Part-Time HVAC Instructor | WD&CE

Requirements Include: (1) Current NC Heating & Air License; (2) Minimum of five years in the field (10 preferred); (3) Passion for sharing the trade with students. Offered through SCC’s division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WD&CE). Classes start in January 2019.

Information Technology Instructor

Requirements Include: (1) Experience in Windows Server, Windows 10, Cisco IOS, VMware, ESXi, Linux, PHP, HTML. (2) Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems. Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Software Engineering. (or a combination of an Associate Degree and several recognized industry certifications.) (3) Innovative, organized, self-driven, experience with an LMS (specifically Moodle), and sincere interest in helping students succeed are a definite plus.

Current Staff Openings:

Communications Coordinator

Manage social media marketing platforms, (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Viking Voice) daily in coordination with the Public Information Officer. Monitor and respond to inquiries across platforms. Create and curate all published content and work with advancement team to develop marketing strategies for the college. Maintain website with design and content updates. Examine and analyze website traffic. Create and coordinate graphic designs for print and digital promotions. Work on event planning teams, assist with video production and other duties as assigned.  Associate degree or equivalent IT certifications required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photo Shop and WordPress. Excellent writing skills. Proficiency at photography. Team player and good time manager.

Bookstore/Auxiliary Services Assistant

Associate Degree in Accounting, Office Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred. Applicants must possess excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel, and be proficient with a calculator and copiers. Experience with general bookkeeping functions and working with daily receipting a plus.
