Counselors in the Student Services Division talk with prospective and incoming students about programs and services offered by the College. They also answer questions and assist students with the admissions process. All students complete an Admissions Interview, which is an informal, one-on-one meeting between the student and a Counselor. During the interview, Counselors review placement test scores and/or previous academic accomplishments to make recommendations for course placement.
An academic program advisor is assigned and program requirements are also reviewed during the interview. Please contact a counselor or visit the Admissions page for more information about becoming a student at SCC.
All new students are welcome to come to Student Services located in North Building (see Campus Map) from 8am-5pm Monday- Thursday, and 8am-4pm on Fridays to complete their Admissions Interview. Students will need to sign in at the Student Services desk to meet with a counselor. Please note: Availability of a counselor during particular times of day may vary. Counselors will meet with students on a first come, first serve basis.
