PROJECT GUIDELINES: PSY 150 (F2F):
Three Web Activities & Correlation Essay: Worth 100 Points!
I. Select web links to three Psychology activities, simulations
and/or experiments.
A. Check www.sampsoncc.edu/staff/pwolf for an approved list of web links
B. Other internet activity links may be approved by your instructor
C. All three sites must be legitimate (or bona fide) and provide results
II. Complete all four activities, simulations and/or experiments.
A. Follow instructions provided with and on each link
B. Pick links which interest you or have personal relevance to you
C. Choose a variety of links from three different areas of Psychology
D. Pick a few extra activities, “just in case”……
1. As a Validity/Reliability check
2. To compensate for dead (no acsess) or poor links: i.e. partial or no results
III. Write a one and one half page essay on each activity ( worth 20
points @ )
A.Four and one half total pages, (worth 60 total points)

3. What you learned about yourself
4. Evaluation of the activity: Validity, reliability, etc.
5. Recommendation: Why or why not
C. Format: Microsoft Word
1. Put your name, course and section number, and assignment title at the top .
2. Use one-inch margins.
3. Use a 12-point Times New Roman font, while utilizing double line spacing.
4. Use APA Formatting Guide to create accurate citations and documentation to give credit for any resource material used in your answers.
D.. To earn a top score, your paper should be written:
1. in a clear, thoughtful, organized manner
2. with correct grammar and sentence construction
3. with APA style documentation where appoopriate

IV. Correlation Essay: Worth 40 points
A. Select two psychological variables
1. From your activities or from your experience or interest
2. Example:
a. self-esteem
b. need for achievement (nAch)
B. Write a three page essay on the relationship between the two variables you selected:
1. Begin with a Title Page and Abstract (a one paragraph summary)
2. Define each variable separately
3. Estimate the direction of the correlation: Positive or negative
4. Estimate the strength of the relationship between the variables:
a. strong
b. medium
c. weak
5. Give a Conclusion at the end of the essay
C. Format
1. 12 point Times New Roman Font
2. Double-spaced
3. 3 full pages, minimum length for body/text
4. Plus Title/Abstract Page & Reference Page (5 total pages)
D. Cite sources used within body of paper viaText Notes
1. APA style ( see www.sampsoncc.edu/staff/wolf for help)
a. direct quotes (author, date, p#)
b. paraphrased citations (author, date)
2. Use complete APA Style References (or Works Cited) at the end
3. Avoid PLAGIARISM!
4. Turn in two “full text” journal articles from NCLive.org relating to your topic:
a. Academic Search Premier
b. MaserFile Premier
c. PsycINFO
5. If NCLive.org doesn’t “pan out”, try

b. www.google.com (select the Scholar application)
