2010 Donor Appreciation Reception
The Donor Appreciation Garden Party held on September 27 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. William C. Aiken was a delightful event even in torrential rains, and guests were thanked for gifts given during the 2009-10 fiscal year. Foundation volunteers Gloria Edwards, Doris Gore, Nita Aiken and Amelia Surratt did a beautiful job decorating with pumpkins, fall flowers and foliage. Wal-Mart and Jackson Farms kindly donated the pumpkins. Dr. Aiken welcomed donors and offered the invocation, and John Prestage, Foundation President spoke briefly on the important role SCC plays in our business community. Foundation Executive Director, Lisa Turlington introduced all of the Student ambassadors, and scholars Jason Lee and Mary Ann Walker shared a little of their stories. Annual Giving Co-Chair, Lyman Horne sincerely thanked donors for their generosity. Guest enjoyed a relaxing affair of live jazz and a cocktail buffet. |
