Spring 2008 Web Classes

Purpose:
The Distance Learning program provides access to quality education and instruction for both traditional and non-traditional students through various Distance Learning methods, i.e. North Carolina Information Highway (NCIH)/Two-way Interactive TV, Internet, and Telecourses.

What is Distance Learning?
Distance Learning typically refers to the delivery of instruction in a non-traditional format in which the instructor and student are separated by physical distance. At SCC students have the option to take full college credit courses without the typical restrictions of time and location. Internet or web-based courses provide educational opportunities that can alleviate conflicts with work, child-care, and transportation problems. NCIH classes are provided at a specific time and location but often include course offerings that are not listed in the SCC catalog and would not be available otherwise.
