Sampson Community College’s Truck Driver Training Program is an excellent opportunity to earn your CDL's with our 11-week day class, Monday thru Thursday, or our 16-week weekend class, which meets Thursday night and Saturday and Sunday. We offer 350 hours of extensive training in vehicle operation with safety being our main objective. Our training also includes logbooks, trip planning, general operation and maintenance, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Learn to drive and maneuver a tractor- trailer safely with the knowledge and experience of our trained instructors.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Must get a criminal background check from the Clerk of Courts office
- Must have a 7-year driving record from DMV in Raleigh, NC
- Must be able to obtain a North Carolina CDL Class "A" Learner's Permit prior to class start
Disqualifications:
- No "careless or reckless" violations in the last 1 year
- No "license suspensions" in the last 1 year
- No "drug possession" charges in the last 2 years
- No "DUI or DWI" in the last 5 years
- No "felonies" in the last 5 years
