Steve Mathis
Division Chair

Mr. Steve Matthis grew up on a livestock farm in Eastern North Carolina. He graduated from NCSU with a Masters in Agriculture Education. After which he taught at Brevard High School in Transylvania County from 1976 to 1978. Mr. Matthis continued by enrolling in the Agriculture Science Program at Sampson Community College 1978-1980. When he returned to Sampson Community College in 1993, he started the Livestock and Poultry Production Program. Now, involved in Swine Production Training for high school students and company farm mangers, he teaches multiple classes in Livestock Facility Maintenance and is currently pursuing EDD in Agriculture and Extension Education with a Minor in Animal Science.
   

Lisa Horne
Division Secretary

A native of Sampson County, Lisa graduated with honors from Sampson Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in General Office Technology in August of 1989 and received the Outstanding Student Award in the GOT curriculum. She worked part-time in the SCC Bookstore while attending classes. After graduation, she worked part-time in the SCC Skills Lab from August 1989 until December 1990; subsequently she began working full-time at the First Baptist Church of Clinton. On August 15, 1994, she was employed at SCC as Evening Secretary. In the summer of 1998, she became Divisional Secretary of the Agricultural/Industrial Programs. Currently, she is a
